Want to foster your child's interest in STEM, while igniting their creative spark at the same time? Buildwave is a creative building program that feels like a video game! Over the course of 6 sessions students create with over 50 different building materials, including Lego®, PlusPlus®, and custom-made Buildwave materials. Each session of the program is a new “level” of the Buildwave game, with an audiovisual setup featuring animations and music that guide students through the different building waves. As your child creates with wave after wave of new objects, they build creative confidence, become better collaborators, and encounter design and engineering fundamentals in a unique and memorable context. Come experience a hands-on world of fun as you conduct a variety of scientific experiments! Learn all about energy and molecules, create a crazy bouncy glob from glue, make some scary green slime and your very own UV bracelet. You will also get to demonstrations from your instructor. Watch snow being created and feel how cold it is! Experience a powerful magnet, magic sand, and many other exciting experiments in this fascinating and educational program!
 
4:15 PM - 5:15 PM    Hydropower Explorers - Hydropower Explorers
Come explore the power of water by building models and conducting experiments with your very own Hydropower kit! Embark on thrilling hands-on activities as you assemble up to 12 working experiments. Learn how different devices are used to extract useful energy, from a water wheel in a small stream to a giant turbine in a tidal power station! The full-color, 32-page manual offers illustrated instructions and scientific information. Build a sawmill, and a hammer mill to harness the energy of moving water to do different types of physical work! With your classmates, you will witness and investigate the intriguing properties of water. You can even construct a hydroelectric power station to generate electricity and light an LED! Learn where the energy in oceans and rivers comes from and discover how we can generate electricity from them. Come join in this educational and hands-on hydro-powered  adventure!
 
4:30 PM - 5:30 PM    Basketball Clinic - Basketball Clinic Grades K-2
Be Ahead of the Game basketball clinics will focus on the fundamentals of basketball through skills sessions, station work and competition. We will emphasize shooting, ball handling and individual offensive and defensive skills. The clinics will stress the importance of fundamentals, smart decision-making and hard work while having fun along the way. Players may be divided by age and skill level to ensure that each individual has a meaningful experience. Children should wear sneakers, comfortable clothing and bring their own water bottles.
